STUDENT ACTIVITIES

ASB

Green Mountain has a student council led by a slate of officers who are elected each year.  Students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades are eligible to run the ASB offices of Director, Secretary and Treasurer.  Elections for officers and homeroom representatives will take place in the fall.  Meeting dates and times will be announced after elections.

GREEN MOUNTAIN BAND

All CK District Elementary Schools offer a band program and students can begin playing in the school band at the start of their 5th grade year. Students are expected to bring their books and instruments to class everyday. Practice sheets will be due at the end of the quarter. They count for 25% of their grade. So it is very important to turn in practice sheets each quarter.  Participation is 25% and tests are 50%. If someone does not pass a test, they can retake it anytime. Any student wishing to drop band will have that option at the end of the quarter.

CHORUS

Our chorus program is held after school one day a week.  Fourth, fifth and sixth grade students are eligible to participate.  Please contact Mr. Dahl, our Chorus Director, for more details.

DESTINATION IMAGINATION

The focus is on developing imagination, creativity, teamwork and sparking children's interest in thinking of and presenting ideas.

JOB SQUAD

Students are invited to apply for various jobs around the school.  These jobs help our students develop a sense of pride and belonging, as well as providing a service to our school.  Our Learning Specialist is the Job Squad coordinator.

SAFETY PATROL

Fifth and sixth grade students are eligible for the school safety patrol program.  Training and parent permission is required.  Students must conduct themselves in a responsible manner to serve.

AFTER SCHOOL SPORTS

Green Mountain has an Intramural After School Sports Program for students in fifth and sixth grades.  The sports offered vary with the seasons.  Information regarding registration will be sent home with fifth and sixth graders a few weeks before the start of each sport.  Students must have their parents permission and provide their own transportation home.  See Mr. Lancaster, our P.E.
