Expectations

Students are expected to be Responsible, Respectful, and Reserved in the library.

Checkout

• Students are welcome to come into the library at any time with a library pass from their teacher.  Students are allowed to check out two (2) books for a week at a time. Kindergartners and some first graders usually checkout only one (1) book until they start Accelerated Reader.  Students may also checkout more books if they are doing research projects.

• Parents can checkout too.

Book Care

We teach students  how to take care of our library books here at school.  Please reinforce these rules at home.

•  No snacks while reading

•  Have clean hands while handling a book

•  Use a bookmark as thin as paper

•  Store books in a safe place

•  Keep books dry

•  Do not write in the books

•  Return books on time

Lost, Damaged, or Overdue Materials

•  We know accidents happen, please let us know.

•  Whoever checks out materials are responsible for its return.

•  Lost materials need to be replaced or paid for.

•  Fines for damaged materials will be assessed by Mrs. Chong.

•  Our goal is for everyone to enjoy and read library books and therefore, students need to be responsible users of library materials.
