FAMILY AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

We know that children can learn better when their parents and grandparents are actively involved.  We encourage each of you to become involved in some way in your child's school experience as this means so much to them as well as your understanding of their school experience.  Plus, volunteering sends the message to kids--education is important!

There are countless ways you can help your child's school.  Here are some ideas:

• Tell students about the type of work you do.
• Volunteer as a library aide.
• Attend public hearings on school issues.
• Share your hobbies with students.
• Share information about your travels with students.
• Tutor children who need extra help.
• Volunteer as a room "parent".
• Go with classes on field trips.
• Read your favorite children's stories to the class.
• Serve on a school advisory council.
• Make school grounds more attractive.
• Help out in the computer lab.
